He is leading the R&D of silicon and III-V integrated photonics in HPE for communication and computing applications. His research interests include III-V and silicon photonics and heterogeneous material integration. He has authored and co-authored over 220 journal and conference papers with over 5500 citations, 6 book chapters, and was granted by 43 patents with another 55+ pending. He received his B.S. degree in Optical Engineering from the Zhejiang University, China, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, USA.
