X-lites Network - Early Career Development Workshop at the ELI User Meeting 2025

About this Event
X-lites is sponsoring early career researchers to advance their research careers by participating in a professional development workshop and attending the 2025 ELI User Meeting. Pre-tenure professors, postdocs, late-stage graduate students, and junior researchers working in the field of “extreme light” can apply now.
X-lites is hosting the workshop (description below) and providing travel fellowships to cover the travel costs for any researchers outside of Hungary. The workshop is on the afternoon of June 17, and the user meeting is from June 18-21. Both events will be at the ELI ALPS Facility in Szeged, Hungary. The researchers will have the opportunity to build their professional network, learn about the ELI facilities, learn about ELI-supported research, and present on their research at a poster session.
Apply now since applications will be evaluated on a revolving basis and space is limited. The application deadline is 21 April 2025. We encourage pre-tenure professors, postdocs, late-stage graduate students, and junior researchers to apply. We encourage researchers from around the world to apply. The meeting and workshop are intended for current or potential users of the ELI facilities, these can include experimentalists and theoreticians from a variety of scientific areas. Researchers with connections to one of the X-lites networks or facilities will be given preference.

Workshop Description:
This interactive workshop provides practical strategies for fostering strong relationships, managing network dynamics, and enhancing collaborative knowledge creation. Through guided discussions, breakout activities, and hands-on exercises, participants will examine the role of interdisciplinary networks in shaping collaboration and explore strategies to strengthen team dynamics for greater research impact.
A key focus will be on psychological safety—creating an environment where diverse perspectives can be shared openly and constructively. By fostering trust and interdisciplinarity, teams can more effectively engage in collaborative knowledge creation, leveraging divergent and convergent thinking to generate, refine, and implement innovative ideas. Participants will leave with actionable tools to build lasting collaborations and maximize the impact of their interdisciplinary research.
