The legendary Donna Strickland, 2018 Physics Nobel Laureate and first woman recipient in 60 years, joined our students for an inspiring discussion!

In September 2022, the Institute for Optical Science organized this special meet-and-greet, complete with pizza and engaging conversation in the Physics Research Building. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with Donna and learn more about the Optica Student Chapter.

This event marked our first large in-person gathering since returning to campus after the pandemic, drawing an impressive turnout of over 175 students, with more than 50 participants entering to win an Optica membership.
