IOS Launches External Advisory Board, Welcomes Roger Falcone as Chair
The Institute for Optical Science is excited to announce the establishment of the IOS External Advisory Board, and to welcome Roger Falcone (Professor of the Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley) as its Chair!
Roger brings a wealth of experience to this role, having directed the Advanced Light Source x-ray synchrotron facility at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and served as President of the American Physical Society. His research on ultrafast x-ray techniques and light-matter interactions is a strong example of the interdisciplinary photon science IOS strives to advance..
The External Advisory Board provides outside, non-biased guidance to the Director as IOS advances its vision and long-term goals. The committee will grow to include three additional members from outside Ohio State, each serving staggered three-year terms.
We're looking forward to the perspective Roger and the committee will bring as IOS continues to grow!
