Prof. Agostini & Prof. DiMauro Speak at ISUILS2025 in Sicily
The 22nd International Symposium on Ultrafast Intense Laser Science (ISUILS2025) took place from September 14–19, 2025, at the Splendid Hotel La Torre in Mondello (Palermo), Sicily, Italy. The opening session was held in the historic Sala Magna of Palazzo Steri at the University of Palermo, featuring welcome remarks from Prof. Massimo Midiri, Rector of the University of Palermo, and Prof. Livan Fratini, Chair of the Department of Engineering.
The symposium featured nine scientific sessions covering a wide range of topics in ultrafast intense laser science. The opening session, “Attosecond Science and Its Future,” included an honorary talk by Prof. Pierre Agostini (The Ohio State University) and invited talks by Prof. Louis F. DiMauro (The Ohio State University) and Dr. Katsuya Oguri (NTT Basic Research Laboratories).
Throughout the week, participants engaged in discussions and presentations on topics such as quantum computing for time-dependent processes, relativistic laser–plasma interactions, ultrafast solid-state physics, THz pulse generation, attosecond spectroscopy in solids, and AI and machine learning for laser applications.
Twelve posters were presented during the poster sessions, and several leading companies—including Spectra-Physics/MKS Instruments, EKSPLA, Amplitude, Japan Laser Corporation, Light Conversion, and SourceLAB—participated in the Sponsor’s Session.
ISUILS2025 combined a rich scientific program with the natural beauty of Sicily’s seaside setting, fostering a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere for all attendees!
